A few parents and children based in Morningside were able to meet some of their cricket heroines who used Redhill School’s facility for their morning training session.
The Women’s Australian U19 team were in good spirits during their T20 preparations on January 15 as each player worked on their role in the team.

“We obviously had a rough start as we lost against Bangladesh but we don’t consider it as a defeat, just a lesson on which areas we need to work hard on to avoid mistakes. The training season was really what we needed to remind ourselves why we are here. We will try our best in our next match,” said the captain of the Australian cricket squad Rhys Mckenna.

The Aussies will be battling the USA at Willowmoore Park in Benoni on January 16.
Head of campus cricket for Redhill School, Eugene Petersen, shared what it meant for a big team to use their facilities during their T20 run in South Africa.

“It’s great to host an international team here at our school. When I announced the news to my learners and the management staff of the school, they were simply overjoyed and hopefully they can be inspired by seeing them practise at their own home,” concluded Petersen.
