New York has become the latest US state to introduce human composting to drive down its carbon footprint.
It follows Colorado, Oregon, and Washington, which first legalised the practice in 2019.
The process allows a person’s body to be turned into soil after their death.
Local firms believe the decision will reduce the state’s carbon footprint when compared with cremation or a traditional burial.
