India cricketer Ishan Kishan is set to debut in Test Cricket. BCCI dropped a video via its official Twitter handle. In the video, Ishan Kishan expressed his excitement about his maiden call-up to the squad for Test Cricket.
Ishan Kishan engaged in an exclusive interview with fellow teammate turned anchor for the chat, Shubman Gill. Kishan revealed how his father always stated that Test cricket is real cricket, with many challenges where the batsmen’s skill is tested, and getting to play in the format is a big thing. Ishan said,
“I am very happy. Whenever I was doing well in white-ball cricket my father used to say that Test cricket is the real cricket. He says that Test has the real challenges, it tests the skills of batsmen and it is a big thing to play Test cricket. I am very happy to make it to the Test team because people perceive it as the real game. I will try hard to do well.”
Ishan also expressed how he enjoys playing red-ball cricket. He said,
“I enjoy playing red-ball cricket.”

When asked by anchor Gill, whether Ishan will aim to hit boundaries in Test cricket as well, the latter explained in detail,
“I come in to bat at No. 6 in Tests. In that case, I need to read the situation first before going for any big shot. If the team is not in a good situation and I make any mistake in the heat of excitement, it will let the team down. Without thinking about fours and sixes, it is more important to bring the team to a comfortable position.”
