Rafael Nadal appears to be saving his legs for tomorrow night's clash against Australia's Alex de Minaur after withdrawing from his mixed doubles match.
Nadal was set to take to the court alongside Paula Badosa for the fifth and final leg of Spain's United tie with Great Britain, but withdraw after Dan Evans' win over Albert Ramos-Vinolas resulted in the final leg being a dead rubber.
Nadal and Spain face Australia tomorrow evening, with his singles match-up with de Minaur set to be the headline act.
Dan Evans is pumped up and roars as he seals the United Cup tie for Great Britain against Spain!
It finishes 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 for the Briton and gives his country an unassailable 3-1 lead in the best-of-five tie.
Evans' win also makes the mixed doubles clash which was set to feature Rafael Nadal and Paula Badosa a dead rubber. Will the 22-time grand slam champ take to the court?
Stay tuned to find out.
The Brits can see the finish line as Dan Evans grabs the vital third-set break to lead 4-2 over Albert Ramos-Vinolas.
Take a look at this brilliance!
We're going to another deciding third set here as Albert Ramos-Vinolas strikes back in sensational fashion against Dan Evans.
The Spaniard cruises through the second set taking it 6-1. Who's going to take out the decider?
These Spaniards just do not know when to call it quits!
Every time Great Britain looks like they've got a stranglehold on this tie, Spain hits back.
Dan Evans had it all his own way in the opening set, but he's been pushed here early in the second as Albert Ramos-Vinolas breaks to take a 3-1 lead.
Rafa Nadal and Paula Badosa are both decked out and ready to go for the mixed doubles clash that Spain hopes will be the decider.
So far, so good for Great Britain and Dan Evans!
Evans did not look back after that early break of serve against Albert Ramos-Vinolas and takes the opening set 6-3.
The Brits now one set away from sealing this time against Spain.
Australia's United Cup campaign has been dealt yet another blow with Ajla Tomljanovic withdrawing from the tie against Spain.
Tomljanovic's withdrawal due to a minor knee injury suddenly leaves Australia without its top ranked men's and women's players after Nick Kyrgios' withdrawal.
Tomljanovic was scheduled to take on Spain's Paula Badosa on Tuesday night, but will now be replaced by Zoe Hives, with Maddison Inglis facing Nuria Parrizas Diaz.
Despite the disappointment, Hives downplayed fears that Tomljanovic's Australian Open campaign could be impacted.
"I think she's all good, and she's just making sure she's ready for [the Australian Open]," she said.
This tie between Great Britain and Spain is suddenly well and truly alive and the Brits are looking to hit back after Paula Badosa's win earlier tonight.
Dan Evans is up against Albert Ramos-Vinolas and is hoping to close out this tie, and he's started well, breaking the Spaniard very early on.
He survives a bit of a scare in the ensuing service game to consolidate the break and takes a 3-0 lead.
