Strategic Analysis Australia Director Michael Shoebridge says Russia does not care about its soldiers being badly trained and is prepared to just “throw them into the meat grinder”.
He said the Ukrainian army needs to be comprehensively re-equipped over the course of this year.
“I think the Ukrainians showed last year they can succeed on the battlefield,” Mr Shoebridge told Sky News host James Morrow.
“They can mobilise numbers of troops and if they are better trained and equipped, they succeed.”
