Sarfaraz Ahmed had a noteworthy comeback after three years away from the test team, scoring a half-century in each of his four innings. At the Karachi National Stadium, Sarfaraz scored an incredible century in the fourth innings of the second Test match to secure a dramatic draw for the home team.
With the tied series against New Zealand, Pakistan has thus put an end to a worrying streak of Test losses at home. They had previously lost 3-0 against a raging England team.

The story of Sarfaraz Ahmed’s amazing comeback to the Pakistan cricket team could not have been penned better by a screenwriter. During the just-finished two-match Test series against New Zealand, the former captain of Pakistan celebrated his comeback with four 50+ runs in as many innings.
The highlight of this occurred on Friday, January 6, on the fifth day of the second and final Test match, when Sarfaraz delivered a stunning century to save Pakistan from trouble and guarantee an exciting debut. This was Sarfaraz’s fourth century in the longest format and, somewhat astonishingly, his first red-ball three-figure performance on home soil.

He has not been a member of the Pakistani team for four years. Rameez Raja, the outgoing PCB president, reportedly declared that his time as a Pakistani player was almost up. Sarfaraz Ahmed scored the runs when given the chance, including a match-saving hundred in the second Test against New Zealand, thanks to the new administration and the selection of Shahid Afridi.
Rameez Raja was inevitably brought up during the press conference.“Rameez had said your tenure as a player was over. And under a new daring selector Shahid Afridi you got your chance, what do you have to say?”
Sarfaraz is direct and equipped with the ability to attack back, but he shoulders arms. He doesn’t take Rameez’s name, simply nods when the question is presented, and then says, “I just tried to play whatever cricket I got, domestic… Even in the media, I moved with people who provided me with good advice. “I had a lot of help from my family and well-wishers,” Sarfaraz remarked.
With both teams having a chance to win, the second Test between Pakistan and New Zealand came to an unexpected conclusion on Friday.
