One thing about me is that I love a good midi dress. Winter, spring, summer, fall, it doesn’t matter — I am wearing a midi dress. However, I’m very particular about which midi dresses I buy, and I usually go over my monthly fashion budget.
I had my eye on the iconic Alba dress from Réalisation Par for a while, but $250 is a little steep for me right now. Still, the dress — and all of its patterns — began to haunt my dreams. One day, I got a text from my best friend with a photo of her in what looked like the midi dress. But surprise! It was actually an Amazon Réalisation Par lookalike that was so similar to the real thing I had to do a double take.
You can guess what happened next. I immediately asked for the link and whipped out my credit card. I had to see for myself if this cheap Amazon midi dress was actually as good as Réalisation Par’s.
Spoiler Alert: It is. I’m wearing it right now! With a sweater, obviously, since it’s still winter.
Not only is the dress gorgeous in person, but it also gives the perfect amount of body-hugging and flowy breeziness. The snatched waist, flared skirt and adjustable bust and sleeves make it great and comfortable for every body type. And for all you fellow shorties out there, this dress is still a true midi on my 5-foot-2-inch frame.
I love this dress so much — and relished all the compliments I got — that I went back and bought it in two other patterns. While the black dress above is still my favorite, the other two patterns are also in heavy rotation.
Whether I’m dressed up for a date, running an errand in sneakers or lounging around the house, I feel like some ethereally sexy and powerful Italian woman sipping a cappuccino in Positano. Basically, the vibes are immaculate.
