Dubai International Stadium in Dubai.
UAE has been one of the most prominent cricketing venues in recent times, and it is now set to host the brand new International League T20. Dubai Capitals and Abu Dhabi Knight Riders will face each other in the first match of the tournament at the Dubai International Stadium.
Dubai Capitals will be led by Rovman Powell, and they also have Indian veterans Robin Uthappa and Robin Uthappa in their ranks. The all-round department looks strong with the likes of Fabian Allen, Sikandar Raza, Ravi Bopara, etc. They would want to start the tournament on a winning note.
Abu Dhabi Knight Riders have retained their KKR core in Andre Russell and Sunil Narine, where Narine is the captain of the side. They have some prominent names like Paul Stirling and Colin Ingtam in batting, whereas the bowling unit looks lethal as well.
Dubai International Cricket Stadium has hosted a plethora of T20 matches in the past, and this track has always been a great track for a T20 match. This is a ground where both batters and bowlers have enjoyed playing due to its competitive nature.
This is a brilliant track to bat on, and the batters will love their time out there in the middle. There are no visible demons, and a high-scoring match is expected here. In the last Asia Cup 2022, a total of 9 T20Is were played here, and the average 1st innings score was 165 runs.
The highlighting point of Dubai is that the chasing teams have always done great at this venue. Out of 9 matches, six matches were won by the chasing teams in Asia Cup 2022. The dew will play a massive part in this tournament as well, and the captains would want to chase upon winning the toss.
The straighter boundaries are very small at this ground, and this will excite the batters for sure. However, the square boundaries are on the larger side, and the spinners will come into play as the matches will go on.
