Lisa Loring passed away on January 30 but her characters such as Cricket Montgomery in As The World Turns or Wednesday are still remembered.
The actress was 64 at the time of her death. The news of her demise came as a shock to several people and fans were quick to express their sadness on social media by dedicating posts to her.
Her daughter, Vanessa Foumberg had broken the news about the actress’s passing.
Lisa has done incredible roles over the years and all of them have helped the star shape her career and grow her wealth over the years.
The actress first started off as a model in the industry and she was just 3 years old at that time. Following this, she decided to switch things up professionally and started taking up small roles in television shows and movies.
Lisa made a name for herself when she was cast as the original Wednesday on ‘The Addams Family.’ Another role that helped shape her acting career was the role of Cricket Montgomery to Wednesday- A look at her roles in As The World Turns.
At the same time, for a brief period, Lisa worked as a makeup artist.
Lisa died due to complications of having a stroke caused by high blood pressure. This was confirmed by her daughter, Vanessa Foumberg while talking to The Hollywood Reporter.
“She went peacefully with both her daughters holding her hands,” she told the outlet.
The same was noted by her longtime friend, Laurie Jacobson who made a Facebook post about this.
“It is with great sadness that I report the death of our friend, Lisa Loring. 4 Days ago she suffered a massive stroke brought on by smoking and high blood pressure. She had been on life support for 3 days. Yesterday, her family made the difficult decision to remove it and she passed last night. She is embedded in the tapestry that is pop culture and in our hearts always as Wednesday Addams,” read the post.
People were left devastated after hearing the news about Lisa’s death. One user wrote: “Rest in peace, Lisa Loring. You gave life to one of the most iconic characters.”
Another added: “R. I. P Lisa Loring such amazing actress the very first Wednesday Addams. “Farewell lifelong muse. I loved you well. You were the OG. Thank you Lisa Loring for making weird girls seem so cool,” read one more comment.
“You created a character for the ages,” said one more. “Your legacy will always be a part of Wednesday’s story,” another user noted.
“RIP Lisa Loring…You set the stage for a Beautiful Wednesday,” said another.
