Ranchi will be hosting an international match later this month.
JSCA International Stadium Complex will join fellow Indian cricketing venues like Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Greenfield International Stadium, Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium and Holkar Stadium in terms of getting to host both South Africa and New Zealand within a span of four months.
Non-metropolitan Indian cities namely Ranchi, Guwahati, Thiruvananthapuram, Lucknow and Indore hosting such crucial fixtures within a short duration speaks highly about the top-notch facilities at the aforementioned stadiums.
While Ranchi had hosted South Africa for an ODI, the city will be hosting New Zealand for a T20I on January 27. The first of a three-match series will be followed by matches in Lucknow and Ahmedabad. Played some 14 months ago, the last T20I here was also between these two teams only.
Much like the India-South Africa ODI in October, JSCA (Jharkhand State Cricket Association) will be starting with the ticket sales a handful of days before the match. It is worth mentioning that the members will be able to buy tickets from January 22. General public, on the other hand, will be able to to the same from January 23 onward.
In spite of a change in the format, another commonality between the last international match and the next one at this stadium is the price range finalized by the JSCA. To cut a long story short, most of the price categories are pretty nominal just like the last occasion.

His first cricketing memory dates back to 2002 when former India captain Sourav Ganguly had waved his jersey at the historic Lord’s balcony. What followed for an 8-year-old was an instant adulation for both Ganguly and the sport. The optimist in him is waiting for the day when Punjab Kings will win their maiden Indian Premier League title. When not watching cricket, he is mostly found in a cinema hall watching a Punjabi movie.
