Only In Hollywood: 1968 'Romeo And Juliet' Stars Sue Paramount … – KABC

(Santa Monica, CA) — The stars from the 1968 hit version of ‘Romeo and Juliet’ are suing Paramount for child abuse. Olivia Hussey and Leonard Whiting were 15 and 16 at the time of filming, and claim they were pressured into performing nude scenes. They were told those scenes wouldn’t make it into the film, but when it was released, the movie contained shots of Hussey’s bare upper half, and a shot of Whiting’s nude backside. The actors allege Paramount sexually exploited them and distributed nude images of children. They also claim they’ve suffered mental and emotional distress since the film’s release and have lost job opportunities from the incident. The pair are seeking more than 500-million-dollars in damages.
