Two suspects managed to evade police after a pursuit through Hollywood and on the 101 Freeway Thursday afternoon.
It is unclear where the chase began, but the Los Angeles Police Department’s Hollywood gang unit was pursuing the driver for apparently having a gun, officials said.
A passenger was also in the vehicle.
The driver the black Honda sedan sped through city streets and then headed north on the 101 Freeway where they reached speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour.
The suspect nearly hit several cars as they exited the 101 at Universal City and turned left to go under the freeway overpass near Lankershim Boulevard and Cahuenga Avenue in Studio City. That’s where Sky5, and apparently police, lost track of the suspects.
Police later recovered the vehicle at the overpass, but the two suspects were nowhere in sight.
Several LAPD vehicles blocked the area for the investigation.
